Oh, “Wild Billy.” It sounds corny, but ever since I first heard that song over 15 years ago now, every time Bruce does the bit about Samson and Tiny Tim at the end and he goes, “He carries him on down the midway – past the kids… past the sailors…” I always get a lump in my throat. Something about the way he whispers that last part – “past the sailors.” Who would think that three words could be so rich and so evocative? I love you, Bruce. Thanks for so many great years.
